Why did I Volunteer?
My reason of joining Light Of Hope PH is because of its Vision of helping others in a most sustainable way. The journey we had to go through the struggle the sacrifices but with our compassion and commitment made every program and progress possible. Every person involved has great contribution in building this organization from the founders together with the support and help with each members and volunteers and specially the sponsors who believe our vision.
How Does it Feel Like?
The greatest feeling, I have during our journey is the genuine gratitude I received from the beneficiaries and see them with great tears of joy. It’s a feeling of happiness for others and sense of purpose. it’s a once in your lifetime experience you have given for a good reason without anything in return which someday before our life journey ends you won’t regret.
The organization started with bringing light thru solar night lamps in a bottle in the poorest communities which are off the grid access to electricity. Imagine the life struggle most specially for young students in their everyday life. Not only it brings light and help for others to be more sustainable replacing those kerosene lamps it also brings education, awareness of the environment and good life experience for all those who contributed and including the sponsors. Now during this pandemic, we have cloudgrid project which helps communities with better access to electricity not just bringing lights but also access to internet which gives them connectivity to outside world and opportunities most specially at times of quarantine. There are more plans and projects ahead taking few steps at a time as the organization grows as long as we gain more support and gain more believers in our journey in helping others to grow and be more self-sustainable.
